1Seniors, persons with disabilities and Medicare cardholders may ride at a discount if they hold a Youth, Senior, or RTC Clipper Card, a Regional Transit Connection Discount Card, Medicare card, Department of Motor Vehicles Disabled Parking Placard Registration, or proof of age 65 or older. To request an RTC Discount Card application, visit the 511 website or call (415) 705-8291.
2 Price per teacher, student or chaperone. To qualify, school groups must call (415) 705-8214.
3 One-way between Oakland and Alameda.

Purchasing Tickets

  • Purchase tickets onboard the ferry at time of departure
  • We accept cash, checks, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Commuter Check.
  • Tickets may only be used on the ferry route for which they were originally purchased.
  • Transferring to or from MUNI using your Clipper Card? Adult San Francisco Bay Ferry passengers using Clipper receive a $0.50 transfer discount when transferring between the ferry and MUNI. The discount is provided both to and from the ferry.
  • Not valid for AT&T Park service.
  • Fares subject to change.

2. Tag off at the card reader at your destination. Tagging off ensures you are not overcharged for your fare.

South San Francisco Terminal Address:  911 Marina Blvd., South San Francisco, CA 94080. Search nearby locations or get directions to the South San Francisco Terminal.

Parking in South San Francisco: Free parking for 35 cars  is available adjacent to the terminal. There is no overnight parking.

Bike Accommodations: There are 12 secure electronic bicycle lockers available using the BikeLink card system. Visit www.bikelink.org for more information. In addition there are bike racks that can accommodate up to 12 bikes.

South San Francisco / Oyster Point Shuttle Service; A Free Service to Oyster Point Area Employees
Shuttles transport employees to/from arriving and departing ferries and employer locations throughout the Oyster Point Business Park and the South San Francisco Caltrain station. Click on the Transit tab for shuttle schedules and service details.

Pier 41 Terminal Address: Pier 41, San Francisco, CA 94133. Pier 41 is located immediately adjacent to the Pier 39 entertainment complex. Search nearby locations or get directions to the Pier 41 Terminal.

Parking at Pier 41: Parking is available at an hourly fee in the Pier 39 parking garage, located across the Embarcadero from Pier 41 and Pier 39.

Public Transit Options: Transit options near Pier 41 include MUNI buses, trolleys, light rail and cable car. In addition, connecting ferries to Tiburon & Sausalito, and San Francisco Bay Ferries to Vallejo, Oakland and Alameda Main St arrive and depart from the Pier 41 area.

San Francisco Ferry Building Terminal Address: The ferry arrives and departs from the South Terminal (Gate E), located approximately one block from Pier ½ on the south end of the Ferry Building. Search nearby locations or get directions to San Francisco Ferry Building.

Parking in San Francisco: Parking is limited around the ferry terminal. Riders are encouraged to use public transportation when boarding the ferry at the SF Ferry Building.

Public Transit Options: Transit options near the San Francisco Ferry Building include BART and MUNI buses, trolleys and light rail. In addition, connecting Golden Gate Transit ferries to Marin County (Tiburon, Sausalito, Larkspur), and San Francisco Bay Ferries to Vallejo, Oakland and Alameda Main St arrive and depart from the Ferry Building. Guaranteed Ride Home Programs

Ferry riders who experience a workday illness, family crisis or other unscheduled emergency may be eligible for a free ride home from work via taxi, rental car or other transit options provided by Guaranteed Ride Home programs offered by San Mateo and Alameda Counties to employees working in those counties. Connections

The Penisula Traffic Congestion Relief Alliance runs shuttles between the South San Francisco Ferry Terminal and the Utah-Grand and Oyster Point area office buildings during commute hours M-F.  These shuttles are open to the public and free.  Genentech also provides local shuttle services for Oyster Point employees.  Additional information below.
